All FirePRO hubs, repeaters and host adapter cards are designed and manufactured by Point Grey to meet the needs of demanding industrial applications. Each product is fully tested to ensure interoperability, as well as compatibility with select Point Grey digital cameras.

| LDR 1394b Cat5 Repeater |

The FirePRO LDR (long distance repeater), designed and manufactured by Point Grey Research,
is the world’s first repeater to use a GigE physical layer to transport FireWire data using GigE signalling, allowing IEEE 1394b 800 Mb/s data to be transmitted in real-time over 100 meters of standard Category 5e cable. This enables users to construct a dependable, high-speed FireWire-based network of multiple cameras that is physically separated by up to 100 meters from the host system. Like other FirePRO hubs and repeaters, the LDR requires no special software or drivers, is fully compatible with 1394b, and is backward compatible with 1394a.

The FirePRO 2-port IEEE-1394b repeater, designed and manufactured
by Point Grey Research, is a reliable and cost effective solution
for extending devices beyond the standard 4.5m cable length.
The compact 25x56x17mm metal case is ideal for applications
where space is limited. The repeater's design incorporates locking
9-pin 1394b bilingual ports, 1394b port protection, and a status
LED to ensure a secure physical connection and stable network
configuration.
